Again this year we are developing an electrifying
COMMUNITY CELEBRATION!
Greetings,
We are so excited to be hosting our 4th annual JUNETEENTH COMMUNITY CELEBRATION this year! God has given us this vision for our community, and it’s been a blessing in many ways. The community has been so supportive and for that we are grateful.
Our theme for this year’s celebration is “CELEBRATING FREEDOM”. On June 13th, 2025, our Juneteenth Community Gala will be held at the Oakley-Lindsay Center of Quincy. We will kick it off with a meet and greet from 5-6 pm, dinner and program from 6-7pm, and live band from 7-10:15pm. This year we are delighted to have the gifted, energetic artist from Chicago, IL, the Sheryl Youngblood Blues band, keeping you engaged and entertained with an awesome show. Opening the evening will be female saxophonist Rhoda G. There will be a scrumptious dinner along with a wonderful Juneteenth program. The color theme for the decorations is shades of Purple with White and Gold, but please wear any color that looks good on you!
Saturday, June 14th, 2025, will be our annual community Juneteenth Festival at WASHINGTON PARK, downtown Quincy, from 12 noon to 8:30 p.m. This will consist of all types of food vendors, local business vendors, informational vendors. We will have a special appearance by the Buffalo Soldiers Biker group from St. Louis and Kansas City chapters. There will be tons of kid’s activities including bounce houses, Petting Zoo, Puttin’ on the Hits, cake walk, and much more. Back by popular demand, the Mid MO High Steppers dance troupe, all the way from Columbia, Missouri will be performing and special appearance by our own Quincy native country singer Butch “Dubari” Sprague all the way from Los Angeles, CA. The energetic band from Memphis, TN known as the PC Band (Perfect Combination) will provide music for this event.
On Sunday, June 15th VOICES OF JUNETEENTH Celebrating Freedom Community Choir concert will be held at Bethel Assembly of God Church starting at 2:00 p.m.
